The Maghera Cricket Club Festival of Cricket is back for its third edition! 

Want to try cricket for the first time?

Played cricket when you were younger and interested in making a return?

Then come to our Festival, learn and play cricket with fun challenges, expert coaching and competitive matches.

A GAME FOR EVERYONE!

SMASH IT CRICKET 11AM-1PM
(AGES 7-11)

Smash It Cricket is a fun, interactive way for primary school-aged children to learn and play cricket. There will be brilliant coaching provided by the North West Cricket Union, with the session going over the fundamentals of cricket with a fun match to finish everything off. 

Give your child a taste of cricket, this summer, learning skills such as teamwork, focus and consistency that will be invaluable in their sporting and working career. If you are interested in signing your child up to our training sessions beginning Monday 8th April 6-6:45pm (Junior 7-11) and 6:45-8pm (Youth 11-16) then fill out our form at the bottom of the page

WOMENS CRICKET BASICS 10AM-11AM

This year we have an event dedicated to women's cricket. Kathryn will be coming down from the North West Cricket Union to run a fun session, mixing cricket basics with some light fitness. This is a great way to try out cricket for the first time, bring your friends and family along and have a blast in a friendly and encouraging environment!

Maghera Cricket Club will entering a womens team for the first time this year, if you are interetsed in joining go to the bottom of the page

6 A-SIDE TOURNAMENT 9AM-4PM

The 6-aside tournament will be returning this year with a new prize for the winner the "WINHER Trophy" - named in memory of Winsome and Herbie Burns, for their love of cricket and contribution to the first years festival.

The 8-team, 9 over tournament will guarantee all entrants 3 games with the top 3 in each of the two groups getting an extra game. The tournament is open to all players that play below League 3 in the North West Cricket Union or Junior League 8 in the Northern Cricket Union as well as those who have some cricket experience but are not currently at a club.

Entry costs £30 per team and the deadline for entry is the 29th March with fixtures released a week before the festival. If you as an individual or as a representative of a team want to join the tournament this year please fill out the form at the bottom of the page

CHALLENGE ZONES 10AM-1PM

The challenge zones are a brilliant way for ANYONE to come and throw or whack a ball for a bit. If you are a parent bringing along your child, a player on a break from the tournament or someone who is just stopping by to see whats going on, come along and give our bowling, batting and fielding challenge zones a try. With prizes for those that come top of the leaderboard.

ALL THIS AND EVEN MORE!!

During the Festival there will also be treasure hunts, a cricket shop, a food truck, Inflatables and bouncy castles along with a kids zone
