Welcome To Maghera Cricket Club
Our Story
Maghera Cricket Club was formed in 2013 through the hard work of a number of enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who share a common passion for the game.
Since inception, the club has worked closely with Cricket Ireland to grow interest in the game locally and now plays competitively in the North-West Cricket Union league.
The club currently has two senior adult teams with over 60 playing members competing in the North West Senior Leagues, Mid-Week T20 and Social T10 competitions.
We also boast over 40 Junior members at the club which is rapidly expanding after a breakthrough year in 2022 which see's them playing regular friendly fixtures with the hope of entering the North West Junior leagues in 2024. The club is also planning on creating a women's team in 2024 as well.

All Skill Levels and Experience Welcome
What experience and skills are required to play for MCC?
A word from club captain Alfie Stewart:
"As captain of MCC I'm always delighted to inform interested men , women and children that the only requirement to play cricket for MCC is a passion for the great game of cricket.
We as a club take great pride in offering the opportunity to play cricket without any experience at all as we believe we can as a club ensure that cricket within our ranks is always a pleasant , enjoyable and educational experience.
Encouragement is at the forefront of our aims for all players. As a club it is truly fulfilling to see newcomers and complete beginners blossom as cricketers as as they experience more and more of the game.
Seeing someone take their first catch, someone scoring their first runs is deemed success among our members. We will give that cricket experience and encourage the development of skills at MCC. It's what we do."
