Saturday 20/6/26 - The Rainey
Having won the toss, Maghera elected to bat first and made a positive start. Openers Muhammad Zeeshan and Anu Sanjeewa laid an excellent platform, sharing an opening partnership of 64. Zeeshan continued his good form with a well-made 23 before becoming the first wicket to fall.
Sanjeewa once again demonstrated his consistency at the top of the order, compiling his fourth half-century of the season. His innings of 50 helped maintain momentum and provided the foundation for a competitive total.
The middle order built effectively on that start, with Aaron Stewart and Denton Cant keeping the scoreboard moving at an impressive rate. Stewart produced a fluent innings of 51, while Cant added a quick-fire 37 to ensure Maghera posted another strong total, continuing a run that has now seen the side exceed 200 runs in four consecutive matches.

In reply, Drummond's chase was placed under early pressure thanks to an excellent spell from Denton Cant. His disciplined bowling accounted for three key wickets as Maghera reduced the visitors to 77 for 4 and seized control of the contest.
However, Drummond responded with a decisive fifth-wicket partnership. Vick Choudhary and Paul McIlmoyle combined superbly to rebuild the innings and gradually guide their side towards the target. Despite Maghera's efforts in the field, the pair's composed batting proved enough to see Drummond home and secure their place in the next round.
While the result was a disappointing one for Maghera, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. Another total in excess of 200 underlined the strength of the batting unit, and the side will take confidence from a run of performances that continue to show they are capable of competing strongly at this level.
